Aw. How quickly swans forget what ugly "ducklings" they are as cygnets (at least according to the fairy tale)...

Nicely done.

Oh!!!! How can they be so mean to this wonderful duck! This is such a lovely illustration - I love how you've captured the duck's eagerness with his wings flapping and expression - really lovely:-)

Beautiful! And something about a swan going "OMG" is very funny!

Nicely done watercolor.
I would rather hang out with the duck he looks funnier.

I think you've done a wonderful job of capturing the attitude of the swans. They look elegant and haughty.

Oh, yes they're mean! But what a great illustration, Ella, greatidea to use the "Ugly Duckling" as inspiration, and so beautifully rendered. Those swan girls don't know what they're missing...

Is this payback for the ducks being mean to one of their own? This is a great illustration! I can really feel the desperation of the poor duck and the haughty attitude of the swans. Swans just dropped a notch in my book. Great illo!

So sad some swans can't feel good about themselves without putting other down!

Augh... those nasty mean swans. I just want to jump in your artwork and play with that poor duck. Cliques are no fun. Great piece... it truly makes me want to strangle those swans by their long necks, and that says a lot, since i love animals. =)

You know, I know those little stinkers. Of course I'm the one saying "Hey guys wait for me" I'm kind of glad that I don't fit in. I'm having the time of my life by myself. This is such a wonderful illustration. You always do such a great job! This is prefect!
