IF-Run: runaway from destiny

still in the spirit of medieval, here's my version of Romeo and Juliet, trying to runaway from destiny.
i copied the style from medieval manuscripts. this is supposed to be more gloomy and surrealism-like, but with pen and these colors, it turn out ridiculous..he hehe. ah well...at least i have fun, browsing those beautiful old manuscripts.

learning styles

i decided to learn various different styles, in attempt to find mine.. (if there is any...). besides, i think this is fun..!
the first project is to copy this 15th century drawing (top). the source is a book entitled "Illustrierte Geschichte der Weltliteratur" which meaning is left for those who understand German (i don't). i don't know to whom i shall give the credit of the painting for. so, i post the original as well.
i draw this with pen and then watercolored.

illustration friday - play
i'm in the mood for fairies, with light and everything. so i thought i will stick to the idea and put some music to fit the theme. so here it is, fairies playing music and dance happily around a bonfire. "careful, you are too close to the fire!"said one fairy to her friend. but the fairy act as if she didn't hear her, because she had too much fun playing with the fire.

i'm in the 'learning-watercolor' process, so you have to understand my clumsy strokes and poor (not satisfying) background and forest. i've just began to practice the color wheel. i've not yet read the color theory. just have a go and make mistakes.

captured

hi! this is my first post to IF. at first i want to wait a while before posting something to IF since i'm only an amateur and just a hobbyist (and really intimidated by all IFriers), but my hand gets really itchy to make an attempt to IF's challenge this week.

this is a girl who's about to sneak out to join her boyfriend in the middle of the night for them to hang out, maybe to go to some party or just to his place (considering her pajama), but then get captured by her mother and her face turn white. her face full of terror because her mother is one scary woman. :-D
